Sigma White

Khaitan Sigma White Polymer based adhesive for fixing high-porosity tiles like ceramic, terracotta on interior floor & interior wall up to a height of 3 Mtrs. Sigma White is grey coloured polymer modified  tile adhesive containing Portland cement and silica sand, it can be mixed with water for installing  small and medium size ceramic floor tiles in interior areas.

Method of Application 

  • The surface to be tiled should be sound and thoroughly cleaned. Surface should be free from wax, grease, polish etc.
  • Add 3 to 3.5 parts of powder to 1 part of water.
  • Mix with a trowel or slow speed drills (50 – 100 rpm) until a lump free homogeneous paste is obtained.
  • Always mix the required quantity, which can be consumed within 60 min. pot life.
  • Leave mixture for 5-10 min. and remix before use. Mix only sufficient quantity of adhesive for immediate need.
  • Spread the adhesive to a thickness of approx. 3-6 mm and comb with a notched trowel. Strictly apply the adhesive paste which can be tiled within 10 to 15 mins.
  • The most important standard to keep in mind is to insure that the piece of tile is completely bedded in the mortar or adhesive with 100% coverage and to eliminate the possibility of any air voids.
  • Excess mortar on adhesive shall be cleaned from the surface of the stone with wet cloth or sponge while the mortar is fresh.
  • If a plaster/levelling mortar bed is applied, ensure that it is cured for at least 7 days to achieve proper strength before application of tile adhesive for installation of tile
  • Dampen the wall before application of thin set adhesive
  • Keep joints between two-tiles using spacers.
  • Start filling joints only after 24 hrs. With  Khaitan Epoxy Kit or Kaitan TG Mix

Precautions & Limitations

  • For laying tiles on floor, surface should be sufficiently hard & good condition.
  • Always add powder to water & never add water to powder.
  • Do not add excess water than recommended.
  • Never add sand & cement at site.
  • Strictly not recommended for tiling on gypsum plaster, paint,wood & metal.
  • Do not use for vertical cladding of heavy stone & tiles.
  • Not recommended for Tile on Tile application.
